Five By Eight Productions is an award-winning film production company, based in Los Angeles, California.  Formed in 2006 by filmmakers Sean Mullin and Michael Connors, their films have won dozens of awards at numerous film festivals around the world.  As of 2026, all eight of their feature films have received theatrical releases. They currently have several films and television shows in production and/or development – each one crafted to challenge perceptions and leave audiences with an unforgettable dose of humor and heart. 


Their company name is rooted in a universal artistic truism: You never know when inspiration is going to strike. For decades, co-founder Sean Mullin has carried a pen and a blank “5x8 Index Card” in his pocket – to write down creative thoughts whenever they struck.  When it came time to officially form their company, they wanted to honor this tradition – which continues to this day.
