Sean Mullin is an award-winning filmmaker and screenwriter. His critically-acclaimed feature film debut as a writer/director – Amira & Sam – won the top prize at numerous festivals and was distributed theatrically by Drafthouse Films in 2015.
His documentary debut as a writer/director – Kings of Beer – about the world’s most intense brewmaster competition was released theatrically in 2019. His documentary – It Ain’t Over – about baseball legend and American Icon, Yogi Berra, received a nationwide theatrical release by Sony Pictures Classics in 2023. It was nominated for two Critics Choice Awards and a Writers Guild Award. His most recent documentary – Brothers on Three – is an unprecedented look inside the most unique culture of any Division I Athletic Team in America – the West Point Army Rugby Team – as they fight to defend their 2022 National Championship. The film was released in Regal Cinema theaters nationwide in November of 2025 and will be released on digital platforms in 2026. He is currently writing and directing a documentary – Buzz – about former Astronaut, Buzz Aldrin, which will be released in 2027.
As a producer, Sean produced Allegiance (Alameda) and Semper Fi (Lionsgate) – both of which received theatrical releases. Most recently, Sean produced Bob Trevino Likes It – which won over 30 film festival awards – including the Jury & Audience Awards at the 2024 SXSW Film Festival. It was released theatrically by Roadside Attractions in 2025.
Prior to his filmmaking career, Sean served in the military. He was stationed in Germany as an army officer and finished his time as a Captain in the New York Army National Guard – where he was a first responder on September 11th, 2001. For several months, he spent his days working as the Officer in Charge of the soldiers stationed at Ground Zero – and his nights performing stand-up comedy.
Sean holds an MFA from Columbia University and a B.S. from The United States Military Academy at West Point. He is a member of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Producers Guild of America (PGA). Sean is represented by UTA. He is the co-founder of Five By Eight Productions and he is a guest lecturer at AFI, USC and West Point.

Michael Connors is a former U.S. Army officer and an award-winning director, producer, and writer whose work spans narrative feature films, documentary, and new media. His projects have premiered at major international festivals including Tribeca, Seattle, Austin, and London, and have received theatrical, television, and streaming distribution through partners such as Sony Pictures Classics, Netflix, Amazon, and Drafthouse Films. He is the co-founder of Five by Eight Productions, where his work explores the intersection of personal loyalty, institutional power, and moral consequence across both fiction and non-fiction forms.
He made his feature writing and directing debut with Allegiance, starring Aidan Quinn, Pablo Schreiber and Corey Hawkins (currently streaming on Amazon Prime), which was nominated for the New American Cinema Award at the Seattle International Film Festival and for Best Narrative Feature at both the Austin Film Festival and the Hollywood Film Festival. Allegiance was theatrically released by Phase One and Xlrator Media and was later acquired by Netflix.
Michael created, wrote, and executive produced the eight-part Wondery podcast Operator, exploring the rise and fall of the billion-dollar 900 phone sex industry in the 1990s. Operator is currently in development at Amazon Studios as a limited series. He also wrote and will direct Ashland Falls, a neo-noir narrative feature in collaboration with Rockhill Studios and producers Lindsay Lanzillotta and Daryl Freimark.

A recipient of the National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Award, Michael holds a BA from Harvard University and an MFA in Directing from Columbia University’s Film Division. He currently teaches filmmaking at the American Film Institute (AFI). Before launching his film career, he served four years as an infantry officer and Ranger in the United States Army.

Rachel Weise is an LA-based writer-producer, executive, and educator developing and producing character-driven film and television. A graduate of the AFI Conservatory, she has built a career spanning creative development, production, and executive leadership, with a focus on thoughtful, director-driven storytelling.
She previously worked as a creative executive at Maniac Productions (CHOIR, CODE BLACK), where she developed film and television projects under the company’s overall deal with Blumhouse. Producing credits include projects for the Disney / AFI Underrepresented Storytellers Initiative and AFI’s Directing Workshop for Women. Rachel’s AFI thesis film, The Erl King, was released on AMC’s premium streaming service Shudder. She is currently independently producing her own slate, including the feature JUNKIE, executive produced by Patty Jenkins, which premiered at AFI Fest 2025.
Prior to fully transitioning into creative production, she began her career in entertainment law, representing screenwriters and major industry players, including Netflix — experience that continues to inform her strategic, creator-first approach to development and production.
In addition to her producing work, Rachel is an active educator. She has taught for Sundance Collab and instructed undergraduate- and master’s-level courses at Mount Saint Mary’s University, bringing an industry-facing, development-driven perspective to emerging filmmakers.
Rachel is driven by developing work with a clear point of view and long-term creative ambition. She seeks out collaborators who are bold, intentional, and deeply invested in the storytelling process, approaching each project with an emphasis on thoughtful development and creative partnerships built to last.
